Jay Borick, M.D.
Jay Borick, M.D., is a skilled and board-certified orthopedic surgeon who treats a variety of issues at Orthopedic Associates of Central Texas, which has offices in Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, La Grange and Lockhart, Texas. Dr. Borick specializes in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgeries of the knee and shoulder and total joint replacement procedures.
Dr. Borick also offers diagnostic and treatment services for sports-related injuries and provides sports medicine and orthopedic coverage for Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Park, Texas. He remains an active member of the Williamson County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association and the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine.
When not assisting his patients, Dr. Borick enjoys spending time with his family. He also participates in a number of sporting activities, including weight training, snow skiing, waterskiing and backpacking.

Matthew Crawford, M.D.
Matt Crawford, M.D., is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine injuries of the knee, shoulder, hip, ankle and elbow in both adults and children, in addition to general orthopedics.
He has served as a staff physician with many high school and NCAA athletic teams, including Duke basketball, soccer, volleyball and football. He is also a team doctor for the United States Ski and Snowboard Association, traveling around the world to provide care for some of the world’s top athletes.
Dr. Crawford is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Piedmont Orthopaedic Society, Texas Medical Association and Travis County Medical Society.
Dr. Crawford lives in Austin with his wife and son and enjoys hiking, biking, outdoor activities and spending time with his family.

Michael Moghimi, M.D.
Michael Moghimi, M.D., specializes in spinal surgery, utilizing both non-operative and operative treatments for spine patients. His practice offers care in all aspects of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine disease. Dr. Moghimi is one of the few surgeons in Austin who has experience with the newest techniques of minimally invasive spine surgery ("MIS"). He believes surgery should always be the last resort, but when necessary, strives to provide the best care using the newest and most innovative technologies.
A board-certified surgeon, Dr. Moghimi completed his fellowship in spinal surgery at Harvard, where he worked at the prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital. Prior to fellowship, he completed his orthopedic residency training at Baylor College of Medicine, and attended medical school at the University of Texas in Houston. He has published multiple book chapters, peer reviewed journal articles, and he has presented at both national and international meetings.

Manish Patel, M.D.
Manish Patel, M.D., has been in private practice in Central Texas since 2001. He specializes in upper extremity surgery, including shoulder replacements, rotator cuff repairs, shoulder arthroscopy, elbow reconstructions, wrist fractures, triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) repairs, wrist arthroscopy, basal joint surgery (arthroscopic and open techniques), Dupuytren’s treatments (collagenase injections and surgery), trigger finger releases, carpal tunnel release, ulnar nerve transposition and fracture treatments, as well as microvascular tendon and nerve repair. He graduated valedictorian of his class in the College of Natural Sciences at the University of Texas, and went on to graduate with high honors from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed a five year residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles. He then had the privilege of completing a one-year fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery with the world renowned hand surgeon, David P. Green, M.D.
He is currently a partner at Southwest Orthopaedic Group and a clinical assistant professor in the department of orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation at The University of Texas Medical Branch. He is an active consultant for several medical companies and assists with product development and surgeon training. Dr. Patel is happily married and has three beautiful daughters who also keep him busy. He loves to cook, spend time with friends and family and play golf.

Stephen Dean Rose, M.D.
Stephen Dean Rose, M.D., is a fellow-trained orthopedic surgeon at Orthopedic Associates of Central Texas. Dr. Rose specializes in degenerative and traumatic injuries of the upper extremities. He also offers surgical treatments, microsurgery and arthroscopy.
Dr. Rose tailors each treatment specifically to meet his patients' needs. He adopts a conservative, minimally invasive approach to a number of orthopedic injuries and conditions. He served as chief hand surgeon at Brooke Army Medical Center until 2007, and later he held the same position at Ohio State University.

Mustasim N. Rumi, M.D.
Mustasim N. Rumi, M.D., a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, offers spine surgery and non-surgical treatments for neck and back issues at Orthopedic Associates of Central Texas. Dr. Rumi is skilled at treating disc herniations, nerve root impingement, spinal cord compression, spinal stenosis, sciatica, radiculopathy and myelopathy, vertebral compression fractures, spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis, spinal trauma, spinal tumors, other degenerative conditions of all areas of the spine, sports-related neck and back injuries, neck and back pain and spinal fractures.

Scott A. Smith, M.D.
Scott A. Smith, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Smith also holds a certificate of added qualification (CAQ) in sports medicine. He has a special interest in hip, knee and shoulder surgery. Dr. Smith is distinguished as a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and he has been voted by his peers to the Texas Monthly Super Doctors list from 2007-2020.
Dr. Smith received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Texas A&M University and a medical degree from Texas Tech University. He completed his orthopedic residency at Michigan State University and serves on the staff of all area hospitals. Dr. Smith has been a high school team physician since 1996, currently for Westwood High School. He has been the Austin Spurs NBA G-League team physician since 2005.
Dr. Smith is happily married and has four children. He is an avid sports fan and participates in basketball, golf and tennis. He is actively involved with his church and enjoys spending time with his family in his free time.

Ryan Taylor, M.D.
Ryan Taylor, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of traumatic orthopedic injuries of the upper and lower extremities. He is highly trained in both the surgical and nonsurgical management of long bone fractures, periarticular fractures, fractures of the pelvis and acetabulum, periprosthetic fractures, nonunions, malunions and infections.
Dr. Taylor is a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and AO Trauma North America. In addition, he has published multiple peer reviewed papers, abstracts and book chapters focused on the care of the orthopedic trauma patient.

Michael Valastro, M.D.
Michael Valastro, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Orthopedic Associates of Central Texas. Dr. Valastro specializes in reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee, performing many total and partial replacements of the knee and hip joints every year. He also has a vast experience in treating sports injuries along with extensive skills in arthroscopic surgery for the knee and shoulder. Dr. Valastro also offers experienced care in traumatic orthopedic injuries. Over the years he has worked as a level II orthopedic trauma surgeon. This experience includes fracture care in both adults and children.
Dr. Valastro has been practicing in the Central Texas area for 25 years. He has built relationships in the Cedar Park area and school district. He volunteers his time assisting local athletic trainers in the management of sports injuries. He works with several area high schools, including Leander, Rouse and St. Dominic Savio high schools. He loves helping kids get over their injuries so they can get back to playing the sports they love.
An Austin area native, Dr. Valastro always aspired to be a doctor. A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Valastro earned his Bachelor of Science in chemistry. After college, he attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where he received his medical degree, and he completed his internship and residency training in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Valastro is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and he retains active memberships with the Texas Orthopedic Association, the Texas Medical Association and Williamson County Medical Society.

Steve Wilson, M.D.
Steve Wilson, M.D., is a leading physician at Orthopedic Associates of Central Texas. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, knee replacement and general orthopedics.
He is a member of the Arthroscopic Association of North America, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Williamson County Medical Society and Texas Medical Association. Dr. Wilson takes pride in his team affiliations with Round Rock Express, Texas Rangers, Triple-A Pacific Coast League Minor League Baseball and Round Rock High School.

Travis Wilson, M.D.
Travis Wilson, M.D., is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, specializing in foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Wilson completed his orthopedic foot and ankle fellowship training at the prestigious University of Washington at Harborview Medical Center. In addition to general orthopedics, he concentrates on traumatic and chronic injuries and conditions of the foot and ankle.
Dr. Wilson resides in his hometown of Round Rock, TX, with his wife and 2 children. In his free time, Dr. Wilson enjoys photography and spending time outdoors, hiking, running and mountain biking.
