Angela Akin, D.O.
Cedar Park Regional Wound Care Medical Director
Healogics Specialty Physician
Dr. Akin became the medical director of the Cedar Park Regional Wound Care Center in 2016. Prior to this role, she was in private practice in family medicine with Cedar Park Physician Associates for six years. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee, obtained her medical degree from Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her residency training in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Akin received advanced wound care training from Accelecare and Healogics and completed the International ATMO hyperbaric medicine course in 2014. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized care for her patients. Dr. Akin is a Texas native, and in her time away from her practice, she enjoys traveling, gardening and spending time with friends and family.
Rebekah Matos, DNP, FNP-BC
Nurse Practitioner
Rebekah Matos, DNP, FNP-BC, obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She received her Master of Science in nursing from Yale University where she trained with a concentration in diabetes management. Rebekah is certified by The American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Since 2011, Rebekah has worked as a family nurse practitioner in emergency medicine, pediatric and adult neurology, and family medicine. Her time in emergency medicine exposed her to a variety of wounds both acute and chronic which lead to her interest in performing wound care full time. Rebekah looks forward to not only treating but educating patients in the management of wounds so they are empowered to make changes to improve their health.
Outside of her career, Rebekah loves traveling with family and friends. She enjoys puzzle and escape games, working out, true crime podcasts and docuseries. Rebekah grew up in New York which cultivated her love of the perfect bagel. She resides in the Austin area with her family several fish.
